Welcome to the

Playwork Collective

Building community and growing the national playwork movement across the USA

What does the Playwork Collective mean?

Playwork is a specific approach to supporting play for its own sake, using low-impact techniques to enrich the environment available and facilitate one’s own choices of relationship over time.

Playwork includes decades of theory and practice and offers practical powerful ideas developed in adventure playgrounds and applicable to any environment, within a framework of social justice.

We believe in children, communities, and play as a process.

Our Mission

Our mission is to support the growing national playwork movement through offering public workshops, paths to accreditation, and other resources for anyone interested in supporting children’s play.  We want to grow playwork itself, as an approach and as a community of practitioners.

PLAYWORK COLLECTIVE CORE FOUNDERS + CONTRIBUTORS

Our collective includes ‘best practice’ adventure playgrounds across the USA, and highly experienced Playwork trainers.
